Breed Info |
Mission Statement The Cane Corso Coalition is
dedicated to providing the Cane Corso community with accurate information on the health,
temperament, training & versatility of the Cane Corso. Unlike registering
organizations and breed clubs, whose primary purposes are to sponsor shows and register
dogs, the Cane Corso Coalition's primary and unchanging goal is to protect each
Cane Corso and the breed as a whole from exploitation of any sort. We are comprised of a group of breeders, owners & fanciers who felt
there was a need for accurate breed information that focused on the truth regarding the
Cane Corso. There are many misconceptions as well as half truths being put out on other
websites regarding health issues, health testing, training and temperament concerns. False
statements such as the Cane Corso being a non-drooling, non-shedding mastiff breed with no
health problems is why we felt there was a need for a site with honest
breed information. We
hope to clear the misconceptions for anyone researching the breed, owning a Cane Corso,
and/or breeding your Cane Corso. The Cane Corso Coalition is
determined not to allow the current surge in popularity to sweep away the lovely qualities
of personality and structure which caused us to originally fall in love with the Cane
Corso. The emotional well-being and physical quality of life of every Corso should be the
chief concerns of its breeder. A Corso - even one being purchased to show and, perhaps,
later to breed - should be, above all, a companion. Please note that this website is a work in progress. We appreciate all suggestions and comments. Thank you to all those who have worked tirelessly and contributed to the content of this website: Tracy Hennings, Anna Huckabee, Misty Barker, Kim Yeager, Shane Cravens, John Evan Stephens, D.V.M., Deb Jones, Kristen Dixon, Larry Forrest & Shelly Nixon. Sincerely, Lisa Mandalios Melissa
